Heritage Summer Hockey Classic - 2019
On Monday, June 24, 27 of our area's top professional, college and junior hockey athletes joined together in Sill Arena for the 2019 Heritage Summer Hockey Classic This event serves as a fundraiser, with all of the proceeds going to the Ray Peterson Heritage fund.
The players were assembled by two former UMD Bulldog teammates Rob Bordson and Adam Krause . Team Krause won the game in overtime, 10-9.
In addition to raising more than $6,000 for thr Fund, the game helped the contestants revert to their childhood days, when they were "rink rats" playing the game with their friends for fun. Of the 27 players on the roster, two are currently with the NHL ...Neal Pionk (Winnipeg Jets) and Andy Welinski (Anaheim Ducks). Five are playing professionally in Europe, including two Hobey Baker winners ,(Jack Connolly & Drew Leblanc) and four in the East Coast Hockey League. Thirteen were playing college hockey at either the Division I or Division III level, including four UMD Bulldogs, and three were from the junior hockey ranks. Complete rosters follow.

The Ray Peterson Heritage Fund was initiated in 2010 to help youth from financially challenged families participate in organized sports, support youth programs that foster integrity, teamwork and build leadership skills and to aid qualified young athletes aspiring to have higher educational opportunities or vocational training.
During the holiday season the Lincoln Park Community came together and held a Halloween Party. The Halloween Boo Bash was a big success where about 100 people came out to skate and enjoy all of the festivities. If you missed it you don't need to worry as there will be many more community events such as the Thanksgiving gobble glide (Nov 17, 630-8), Christmas Skate With Santa ( Dec 15, 630-8), and the Valentines Day Skate for the Heart ( Feb 16, 630-8).
